It depends upon the state.  In Connecticut, even a POST certified officer (who had to pass a polygraph to get hired and get sent to the academy to obtain that certification) needs to take and pass another polygraph if he wishes to get a new job at another agency.

I have a question for you hiring guys and people with knowledge of Hiring for LE. I graduate from the Academy and will be POST certified soon. Will the hiring process be any easier for me since I will be already certified or just as hard? Also, how long should it take for a certified Peace officer to be hired with an agency? Thanks.
