I got an e-mail saying they found a more "qualified" person...
Didn't thank me at all......i could tell the guy was an asshole.
That kind of shit just happens sometimes in this business...they probably hired some ex-military or someone else that's used to makign ALOT more money.....I cant believe they think some ex-cop or ex-military is gonna take a pay cut to work for $12.00 per hour! Give me a break! I was making more than that on my last Unarmed Garda job!!!
The funny thing is, they basically told me they were going to hire me, because they didnt want me wasting my time if I wasnt going to commit,etc......then they turn around and say they found someone more qualified......which im sure is BS.
They probably just found someone that KNEW someone that worked in the company and hooked him up with the job.... (with the economy now, you pretty much gotta know someone to get a fucking job.)
I GUARANTEE i'll see the job back in the paper in a month from now.
Like i said, this is why I didn't wanna get involved with Garda again, theres just so much prejudice shit going on with them......i used to deal with this shit on a daily basis....but i figuared if i applied somewhere else in another state, maybe it would be different.....
They are a broke, cheap ass company. (which is why their trucks are literally rust buckets.....)

Okay, Garda Definately has poly tests....i took one myself, from them.
Here's my opinion on Garda.... I've worked for them in the past(but they were known as Vance then), and i worked a very good job as a security officer/supervisor. I then went to try for a Garda Armored Truck job.... I figuared i had one hell of a good shot at getting the job since ive worked for them in the past right? Well apparently not! These idiots were so dumb, they just COULDNT grasp the concept that Vance WAS Garda, its the same company! The same training!
I took the poly test....
The guy just talks to you, and asks you about 5 questions, and you just respond normally...not Yes or No. This is where you TELL him if you've ever drank on the job or what drugs you've done, and if you've done any drugs in the past 3 years.
Then he hooks you up to the machine and and asks you the SAME questions again....and you say Yes or No.
-Do you have hidden motives within this company -Have you ever dranken alcohol or used drugs on the job other than what you told me before -Is today Thursday -Are you lying about being in good health conditions -Have you used any illegal drugs in the past 3 years -Have you ever stolen anything of a value of atleast $500 from an employer
(They DO NOT ask you sexual questions, or anything sick, since that's not what they are interested in....they are ONLY interested in THEFT or ALCOHOL/DRUG ABUSE questions.)
Then there was a brief intermission, then he asked the same questions again.
It wasnt that bad at all.....the guy was really cool.
If you have nothing to hide, just take the test, because its probably honestly going to be hard to get a job around so much money Without taking a poly....
I would avoid Garda, they are NOTORIOUS for not taking care of company vehicles, and being a prejudice company....but this depends WHERE it is. The supervisors usually spell and have 3rd grader english skills....
I would try a company like Brinks or Loomis, they may not Poly.
