I was looking up lie detection stuff and found there is all kinds of stuff some of which includes the below which I have not seen talked about in the forums here unless I am missing something and either way I am wondering what you guys have heard about this stuff or stuff soon to emerge? Also I wonder what the et the general rules are that might apply more broadly and universally to this stuff no matter what method is used.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lie_detection

-Functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) is the use of MRI to measure the haemodynamic response related to neural activity in the brain or spinal cord of humans or other animals. It is one of the most recently developed forms of neuroimaging.

-Electroencephalography is used to detect changes in brain waves.

-Brain fingerprinting uses electroencephalography to determine if an image is familiar to the subject. This could detect deception indirectly but is not a technique for lie detecting

-Truth Serums such as sodium thiopental are used for the purposes of obtaining accurate information from an unwilling subject. Much of the claimed effect relies on the belief of the subject that they cannot tell a lie while under the influence of the drug

Cognitive chronometry, or the measurement of the time taken to perform mental operations, can be used to distinguish lying from truth-telling. One recent instrument using cognitive chronometry for this purpose is the Timed Antagonistic Response Alethiometer, or TARA.
