I have a polygraph exam coming up for a LE position. I have read that 400mg of meprobamate is supposed to be an effective way to defeat (i.e., avoid failing) a polygraph exam. Is there any truth to that? FWIW, I have a valid, current prescription for this drug.

Scopolimine maybe... Huh
Ask George I believe it is referred to on an earlier post

Scopolamine also interferes with neural / nerve transmisisons but is less effective
than Tegrotol and less effective than Carisoprodol.

However, Scopolamine has very nasty side-effects and i would recommend very strongly
against taking it without prior medical examination / prescription.

Is also sometimes used as a date-rape drug.

Hello NonOmbre - are you paying attention......I repeat:
"Dont use this drug. It is baaaaad"

1904,

Thank you.  I am gladdened to observe that you have begun the long trek to developing some sense of moral responsibility.  I am now cautiously optimistic for your future... Wink

Nonombre

and always YOUR hombre amigo...

BigE,

To pass the polygraph "Control Question Test" (by far the most commonly-used technique), one needs to produce stronger reactions to the "control" questions than to the relevant questions. No medication is going to produce such an outcome. For information on how to pass a polygraph "test," see Chapters 3 & 4 of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector (1 mb PDF).

Do not exceed the prescribed dosage.
Tell the examiner that you are taking  Carisoprodol by prescription.
It has more or less the same effects on the CNS as Tegrotol and will suppress
your responses. You are an unsuitable examinee when taking this drug - and if
taking it by prescription - you should make the examiner aware from the outset.

If he still tests you, he's a gung-ho johnny.
You could take him to the cleaners if he fails you.
Tell him to Google the meds before he even starts.
