Since I haven't talked to my sister, I don't know exactly what happened. My other sister told me "Mom" saw a scratch on child and asked her what happened. I don't know how she questioned her or what questions she asked. From what I hear, child just said my hubs did it.
My sister was molested when she was 9 or 10 by our stepfather. My mother didn't believe her when she was told. My other sister says she thinks this is why she is doing this. She wants to make sure she doesn't ignore something that might be happening. The father does not believe anything happened. My other sister doesn't believe anything happened and says the child's mother doesn't either. Not really. She's just 'making sure.'
Anyway, thanks for getting back to me so quick. Hopefully, this will set hubs mind to rest. They really did a number on him yesterday.

It seems unlikely that the investigation would go very far without the child giving a detailed account of what happened. 4 year olds don't make up details of sexual abuse. If your husband is innocent and didn't confess to anything during the poly, I would just wait to see what happens next.

I really wish I had found this site sooner. About 3 weeks ago my husband was contacted by a detective that he had inappropriately touched my niece. He was cooperative and went in and talked to the detective. He offered to take to poly without being asked. He went in yesterday for it. Almost as soon as it was over he says the polygrapher ripped the paper off the machine and told him he failed badly and then the interrogation began. He said it was awful. He wasn't expecting that. He finally got up and left. He looked horrible when I saw him.
I know he didn't do it. I and our 2 children were here when it happened. There was no opportunity. The child had a scratch (that she probably got climbing in and out of my truck -- over the open tailgate -- when we were grilling) that she told her mother my husband gave her. She turned 4 today. The child is shy with strangers and won't talk to anyone about it. There is no physical evidence. Only the mother saying that is what happened. We're in shock and don't know whether to get a lawyer or just hope this was a last ditch effort on their part to get a confession.
