If you answer yes to a CONTROL question in the pre-test does the EXAMINER re-word it so you will say NO on the actual poly TEST? ex... for pre-test questionare: HAVE YOU EVER DONE DRUGS? control question you answer YES!!! Then on your actual POLY test : BESIDES WHAT YOU TOLD ME HAVE YOU DONE OTHER DRUGS? is this how it is given? these are both CONTROL questions right?
The fact that you still possibly think that the question "Have you ever done drugs?" is a "control" question indicates to me that you haven't even bothered to read my answers to your questions on this message board, let alone the book. (See my reply to your first question in this message thread.)
I will not waste my time answering any further questions from you. Good luck. You'll need it.

Can you still PASS the test if you notice only 2 or 3 control questions? And show a reaction to them?
Typically, failing one question means failing the entire "test." So yes, if one doesn't notice a "control" question and doesn't react as strongly to it as one does to the corresponding relevant question, then one might not pass. However, if one were to mistake a relevant question for a "control" question and augment reactions to it, then one would be quite likely to "fail."

Will they word them differently for each test? ???
No.

Should I breathe in through my nose and exhale from my mouth?
How on earth did you get that notion?

Whats the best approach?
When at rest, most people inhale and exhale primarily through the nose. That would probably be the best approach.

Sorry, I'm not going to waste my time writing an explanation for someone who is too lazy to read the book. You'll find the answer to your question at pp. 140-145 of the 4th edition of TLBTLD.
As is clearly explained at p. 144, the fact that a question is modified to begin, "Besides what you told me..." is not a sure indication that it's a "control" question. The question "Besides what you told me, have you ever used any other illegal drugs?" is very much a relevant question.

George, When I take my pre-test how will I know what the CONTROL questions are going 2 be? Give me what to look out for & how will I be able to tell? I know look in Chapter 3 & 4 of your book? I just want to know the easiest way to tell. Is it how they are worded? I know they are usually very AMBIGIOUS questions. When they actually give me the test awhile I am hooked up and they ask me the 10 or 15 questions will they change the wording on the second or third test? or will they be worded exactly the same and just the order they were asked be different? And will the control questions be worded different each run through of the test? Please let me know this is confusing the hell out of me!!!! THANKS
Ex: have you ever lied? I know this is a control question.... will this change the second time they run through it? Ex: besides what you told me have you ever used any other drugs? is this a control question? Anytime you see BESIDES does this make IT AN AUTOMATIC CONTROL question? ???
