I would suggest that you apply to a department that does not polygraph, there are more then you think out there. In addition there are some departments that have a more laxed drug usage history statement. I have a friend that was polygraphed in regards to the last 3 years have you used any illegal drugs. So don't give up, just because you made some mistakes when you were a kid doesn't rule you out. Look around, if you work hard enough and keep your nose clean it can happen.

I am considering applying for a reserve Police Officer program with a large California police department and was wondering if I disclosed that I reluctantly tried Ecstasy 4 years ago will rein my chances. It was a mistake in judgement but other than that I should be a much desired candidate. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
