We have been a polygraph examiners for a very long time. When we read your manuals,We were humored that you would even think that you can actually fool a polygraph examiner, especually a law enforcement polygraph examiner. We will give you three reasons why we think your manual is misleading and it combines both common sense and technology.
1) Most law enforcement polygraph examiners are skillful detectives/officers prior to becoming an examiner. Do you think we need a polygraph machine to know someone is lying. All we are going to ask the applicant whether he researched countermeasures and if he denies it, We will make sure we run a credit card check for any purchases relating to countermeasures, you think we will catch him in a lie, come on now. We have been in this game for too long.
2) The control/relevant questions, you dont think most examiners including us dont read on current countermeasure manuals out there? Sorry to burst your bubbles, we dont use control/relevant questions on applicants whom took a poly before or whom we suspected researched on polygraph countermeasures. There is a special test for people who read your manuals.
3) The infamous anal sphincter technique. Sorry to burst your bubble again, there is a famous countermeasure anal sphincter pad that detects such a movement or any movement. Please encourage the people that use your manual to use it, it only makes our job a little bit more interesting.
This is Sher Polygraph # 1 and only rule, just be honest. In the end they are just hurting themselves. Use common sense. We all made mistakes, "We are generally incline to forgive a imperfect man that is honest than a perfect man that claims to be honest."
Very Respectfully, Members of Sher Polygraph Services sherpolygraph@aol.com
