Today I took a Poly for a local PD dept.  I am 35, but when I was 13 a friend and I broke into a car and stole an old 8-track from it.

Wow, you stole an 8-track tape player in 1982?  That doesn't sound quite right, unless you just did it for fun.

repro42,

The fact that they are starting the background check,
is a good indication that you passed, and are being
processed in.  The NSA does the same thing - they
won't start the background check, for the TS clearance,
until one has passed the poly.  Since there has been
over twenty years, since you got into trouble, I
can't see how that would disqualify you from
employment.  BlackJhack sounds like the typical
polygrapher.

I'm pretty sure they will disqualify you, because if you are lame enough to steal a freakin' 8 track, there's no telling what you may do. We don't need anymore lame cops out there. I say that you drop out of the testing right now, slip a cartridge into your 8 track, kick back and enjoy the music. Wink
