The fact that they are starting the background check, is a good indication that you passed, and are being processed in. The NSA does the same thing - they won't start the background check, for the TS clearance, until one has passed the poly. Since there has been over twenty years, since you got into trouble, I can't see how that would disqualify you from employment. BlackJhack sounds like the typical polygrapher.

I'm pretty sure they will disqualify you, because if you are lame enough to steal a freakin' 8 track, there's no telling what you may do. We don't need anymore lame cops out there. I say that you drop out of the testing right now, slip a cartridge into your 8 track, kick back and enjoy the music.

Today I took a Poly for a local PD dept. I am 35, but when I was 13 a friend and I broke into a car and stole an old 8-track from it. That is about my biggest boo-boo will that disqualify me? Oh, yeah my poly I think went well. That is what he told me afterwords...I didn't get any post interogation...He said they should be starting my backgrounds....If you would like to know about my poly.. then please post... I didn't cheat on it...
