Beanadmir,

As part of your BI, your police department will conduct a credit check on you.  They will have a copy of an Experian or TRW report with your complete credit history.  If you have been a responsible person with your debt, you will have no problems.  If your credit report show a pattern of late payments, delinquent credit card accounts, collection agency action, or bankruptcy, you will have some 'splaining to do.

I'm pretty sure that most police departments out there don't want to hire someone who has shown immaturity or irresponsibility with their own money/debt.  A friend of mine was told, "thanks, but no thanks" by a large police department for that very reason.

If your history is clean, no worries.

Good luck,
Kona

Just wondering why a police pre-employment background check included all of my credit card numbers?   I have a great credit rating!  Just wondering.......
