Gerald,

Please define sloppy.  Are you talking about their personal appearance in uniform (ill fitting uniforms/unshined shoes/fat and out of shape), or something else?

I don't live in LA, but have visited there many times.  I've always thought the officers of the LAPD presented a very sharp, professional appearance.

If those statistics are even remotely close to being accurate, I find it pretty scary considering how many degenerates LAPD has hired.  I live in LA county and when I see many of the cops out here, it makes me want to puke.  I see some very sloppy sons of bitches with badges.

I have family in the LAPD and they told me that the ratio of people applying and getting hired is about 1000:1.

That is for every 1000 applicants, only one will get hired.  Good luck!!

I have a cousin in the L.APD., He has told me that L.APD. is one of the toughest to get into in southern california. My brothers freind has 3 freinds who have applied but been rejected due to the medical and poly. To the original poster, apply to the L.A.PD., you might have better luck with them. Im thinking of moving to southern california next year. I will Definately apply once i move there.

Best of luck.

John Doe,

One shouldn't be tossing bricks inside glass houses.

Grammer?

You get the message.

Yeah, what Mom said.  The process is long but easy.  Give it a shot and see what happens.  All they can do is say no. Grin

The requirements for LAPD do not include a college education in any undergraduate degree.

To my knowledge here is the only requirements

20 1/2 years of age at your application time
I think you must have a valid drivers license
and be a citizen
pass the written test
pass the agility test
pass the medical test
pass the interview
pass the phycological test
pass your BI process
and of course the wonderful polygraph
Good luck !

Does anyone know what my chances are of getting hired as an L.A.P.D. officer if I haven't gone to colloge? Or if I went to colloge but did not take anything about criminal justice?
