When I took my poly. for the LAPD things were much better than the local PD. When I came to my "domestic violence" issues (prior post) at the LAPD poly., I began to explain my "violent" acts of noogies and indian burns. The guy laughed and said that is not what he was looking for. (AT LAST SOME CONTEXT) He wanted to know if I have ever severly injured my wife or caused real pain and trauma; to which I said NO and passed. Now it is going to look like I lied when my BI from LAPD gets ahold of what I said at the local PD and compare answers. According to them I have "domestic violence issues," but according to the LAPD poly. I have never injured my wife!! This whole polygraph business is a joke and I am hoping it is not going to cost me a career with the LAPD.
I can't speak for other people, but the polygraph examiner I had at the LAPD put things in context and really stated what he was going to ask me. The local guy was very ambiguous and my answers were tweaked.
