I agree with Canadian Crusader and Suethem that it would be helpful to have a lawyer experienced in labor law. The Martindale Lawyer Locator website may be helpful in finding one near you.
As for the facts on the polygraph, I suggest that you contact Dr. Drew C. Richardson to obtain a signed copy of his Evaluation and Opinion of CQT Polygraphy. (I will send you his contact information privately.)

A report to the under sheriff might fall on deaf ears especially if you are not very close to him/her and the fact that they seem to rely on it for pre-employment purposes. Sounds like they are very fond of the machine. Pissing on their leg (trying to disprove or discredit the poly) might just get their backs up and work against you.
Obviously I am not too knowledgable regarding US employment laws but being fired based on a polygraph (which is not even admissable in US court) result sounds like wrongful dismisal. I would personally contact a laywer for his/her advise on how to proceed. Fight the legal basis of the reason for your termination not the vehicle with which they used to come to their decision.

I was terminated from my employment as a Detention Deputy in a North Idaho Sheriffs Department. My employment started in Sept of 01 (I passed the pre-employment Poly) I was devorced in April of 02. My Ex-wife told me during the divorce she would have my job. I was under internal investigation as of May for stalking my ex-wife. I keep telling the investigators that I have had no contact with my Ex. I was forced to take a Polygraph in July of 02. From May till Aug. of 02 I was under an incredible amount of stress form my ex-wife and her friends calling the office with false claims of me stalking her. I failed the Polygraph and in Aug of 02 was terminated from employment as a detention deputy. I am now attempting to get my job I loved back. I am writing a report to the under sheriff titled "Stress and the Polygraph" My question is, is there anybody who can help me with facts of this subject. Please help me. My email address is wildmustang@icehouse.net Thank you Carl
