I would like to see countermeasures on how to make ones self UNTESTABLE. Certain medications and health conditions can make the polygrapher not be able to test you. I want to know all the health conditions that would make one untestable. Also, the current medications that a doctor would prescribe to a indiviual if they had that certain health condition.

If one is being forced to take a polygraph and he could state to the polygrapher he has ongoing health problems. Would be another countermeasure one could use.

Also, how to sabatoge the test. Say during the 1st set of questions how can one make himself untestable. If you are untestable they can see that you were trying to helpful but unfortunately for some odd reason they cant test you.

This is a biggie here guys... Let's find the ways.

I knew of certain indiviuals that were required to take the test but got EXCUSED from taking further tests because of High Blood Pressure and recent strokes.

From what I've read on these forums the relevant/irrelevant counter measure approaches may be in need of further elaboration and confirmation of effectiveness.

Vance,

Thanks for all these suggestions, all of which we'll take into consideration. Although the emerging technologies you mention are beyond our purview, it might be appropriate to make reference to them.

George,

Maybe you could add a section on emerging technologies (eg ERP and neuroimaging, noninvasive detection technologies like thermal imagery, etc.).  Also, you should clearly differentiate the status of CQT and GKT approaches.  Also, you might have a look at Kleiner's new Handbook of Polygraph Testing for recent reviews on a variety of related topics - it's a good introductory text.

Work on the 3rd edition of The Lie Behind the Lie Detector has begun. Any suggestions for changes/additions are welcome.
