Roger,

Civil law suit? Arrest warrant? Forgive me, but I doubt this. This would be a small claims court case and if he didn't show, you would get a default judgement in your favor.

Anyone that is looking for a polygraph examiner needs to read this! John Grogan Polygraph Place among other names is one of the most unethical people I have ever dealt with. I made the mistake of starting to take his by mail course and half way through he quit sending anything. I live in Colorado so after many attempts to contact him with no reply I filed a civil suit against him and of course he didn't show, so now Grogan has an active arrest warrant in Colorado. He has never given a reason for stopping to send the material, but now I have found many places where his name shows up as one of the most crocked people in the state. Stay Away and spread the word!

peternorth,

You are correct. LAUSD Police unfortunately have resorted to polygraph exams. Its a shame because they are really in need of expanding their dept.

Thanks

Mark,

I too was rejected by the LASD solely because of "issues" raised by the polygraph. This is due to the fact that the LASD uses the polygraph as their primary "investigative" tool in lieu of through background investigation.

My question is this: Are you aware of any police
departments here in Southern California that do NOT
require a pre-employment polygraph? I never want to
          take that ridiculous test again.

Yes there are. You can try the CA Youth Authority, CA Dept. of Corrections, CA State Parole and many other state LE agencies except the CA Dept of Justice(they do poly), The LA Unified School District Police, LA Airport Police and The Port of Los Angeles Police are agencies that do NOT poly.

Another point to remember is that that you found this website and you can learn the truth and get educated. Consider applying to other agencies that use a poly, read The Lie Behind The Lie Detector and be ready to pass the next one

You can check the CA state personnel board site for state LE jobs www.spb.ca.gov/

Good Luck,

I was recently rejected from the LA County Sheriff's
application process based solely on a polygraph exam
that falsely indicated I was "having trouble" with one
of the questions.

My question is this: Are you aware of any police
departments here in Southern California that do NOT
require a pre-employment polygraph? I never want to
take that ridiculous test again.

I am aware that the LAPD used to hire without the use
of polygraph exams, but that they, too have now
adopted the polygraph. Anyone know of SoCal departments that do NOT utilize the polygraph?

Thanks!
