I've been exposed to usage at gatheriings, but since cut those people out of my life since. Do you answer YES to just being in the same room, and immediately leaving upon discovery of drug use? Or is that a no question, and can be comfortable stating last personal experimentational use wass in 1985, and even then it was less than 15 times. OR, is this a prime example of where sting techniques should be utilized?
Deputy Dawg,
Your situation can be a Catch-22. My last poly DQ was based on the premise that yes, you knew it was in the room, yes, you left, yes, you lost those "friends", BUT you still had these "friends and that may cause them to challenge you on "conduct issues". I have a Bachleors and Masters degrees and yet I told the truth and still was DQ'ed based on "deception" for being "in the room".(that was when I came to this website and learned the "truth"). So you may get interrogated, or they may be happy with your declaration of "honesty".
However the sticks may fall in your case, You need to Get Educated read The Lie Behind the Lie Detector and know what you are up against. The decision to use countermeasures is up to you. You may want to read AMM's latest posts to see how having Knowledge is Power and that equals SUCCESS!!!!
Good Luck

Different agancies have different "standards" for what is acceptable and what is cause for rejection...again, dealing with the SFPD, they seem quite liberal by comparison, implying certain drug use is acceptable RIGHT UP TO signing of the initial application! Having seen recruits turned away at other agencies, whether they told the truth or not, what is a true "cutoff" limit with the SFPD? One year ago, 5 years ago - does "exposure without usage" count (at a gathering, saw it being passed around, but got up and left). In my case, the youthful and mild experimentation ended 17 yrs ago, but over those years, I've been exposed to usage at gatheriings, but since cut those people out of my life since.
