And you know what else is universal? The<\/strong> bullshit<\/strong><\/em> in the polygraph industry.<\/strong> So, let me break down\u2026plain and simple\u2026why those lie-detector machines are about as reliable as a weather forecast in a thunderstorm.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An FBI spokesperson<\/strong> said that, at Director Kash Patel\u2019s<\/strong> instruction, the bureau has begun using polygraph exams in recent weeks to \u201cpinpoint the source of information leaks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Worse yet, Kash Patel<\/strong> knows this. Even worse? Polygraphers <\/em>(the people who administer the Polygraph Test)\u2026know it better than anyone<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopkins is quite right.<\/strong> FBI Director Kash Patel, a 2005 graduate of the Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York, should understand that polygraph “testing” is pseudoscience. His decision to ramp up the FBI’s reliance on polygraph “testing” in a quest to identify employees who speak with journalists is deeply misguided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It bears repeating that there is no documented instance of the polygraph ever solving a federal leak investigation.<\/strong> But we have examples of polygraph screening causing career harm to individuals wrongly identified as leakers, as noted in this space<\/a> just four days after the founding of this website in 2000.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
