DiPrima is a deputy chief of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cityofcartersville.org\/police-department\">Cartersville, Georgia Police Department<\/a> and had been in Florida to attend the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220726144942\/https:\/\/www.polygraph.org\/apa-annual-seminar-update\">56th annual seminar<\/a> of the American Polygraph Association, which was held in Orlando from 28 August to 2 September. DiPrima was released from the Polk County jail after posting $500 bond.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/antipolygraph.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/jason-diprima.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"414\" height=\"512\" src=\"https:\/\/antipolygraph.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/jason-diprima.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4763\" srcset=\"https:\/\/antipolygraph.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/jason-diprima.jpg 414w, https:\/\/antipolygraph.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/jason-diprima-243x300.jpg 243w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 414px) 100vw, 414px\" \/><\/a><figcaption><strong>Jason Matthew DiPrima<\/strong><br \/>Polk County Sheriff&#8217;s Office booking photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Solicitation of a prostitute is a violation of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.leg.state.fl.us\/statutes\/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&amp;URL=0700-0799\/0796\/Sections\/0796.07.html\">Section 796.07(2)(f)<\/a> of the 2022 Florida Statutes. A first offense is charged as a misdemeanor of the first degree and is punishable by imprisonment not exceeding one year and a fine not exceeding $1,000. Upon being found guilty at trial or pleading guilty or nolo contendere, violators of Section 796.07(2)(f) must be entered into Florida&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fdle.state.fl.us\/SFPDB.aspx\">Soliciting for Prostitution Public Database<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a press conference held on Tuesday, 6 September 2022, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd provided additional details about the sting operation in general and DiPrima&#8217;s arrest in particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"video-responsive\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"News conference: Georgia Deputy Police Chief arrested in Polk County\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1g_qHRClkgU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015, Sheriff Judd <a href=\"https:\/\/antipolygraph.org\/blog\/2015\/06\/09\/florida-congressman-dennis-ross-seeks-radical-amendment-to-employee-polygraph-protection-act\/\">publicly supported<\/a> draft legislation that would have amended the 1988 Employee Polygraph Protection Act &#8220;to provide an exemption from the protections of that Act with regard to certain prospective employees whose job would include caring for or interacting with children.&#8221; Such legislation was ultimately not enacted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Sheriff Judd, at the time of DiPrima&#8217;s arrest, he had been &#8220;driving an unmarked vehicle that was normally assigned to the DEA task force, meaning <em>their<\/em> officer assigned to the task force would have driven this vehicle, but apparently <em>his<\/em> vehicle was not so good to make the trip, so he&#8217;s in one of the undercover vehicles.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is noteworthy that the Cartersville Police Department, for which DiPrima has worked since 1996, requires that applicants <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220907131923\/https:\/\/www.cityofcartersville.org\/sites\/default\/files\/fileattachments\/police_department\/page\/6941\/updated_pd_job_app.pdf\">submit to polygraph screening<\/a>. It is not clear whether DiPrima personally conducted any such polygraph examinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his press conference, Sheriff Judd stated that he understands that the Cartersville Police Department has suspended DiPrima &#8220;pending disciplinary actions.&#8221; At the time of this writing, DiPrima remains <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20220907132324\/https:\/\/www.polygraph.org\/index.php?option=com_community&amp;view=profile&amp;userid=1000288206\">listed as a member<\/a> of the American Polygraph Association.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Update:<\/strong> In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=eEr7cBGFfLA\">press conference<\/a> held on Friday, 9 September 2022, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd announced that Cartersville Deputy Police Chief Jason DiPrima has resigned.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, 1 September 2022, the Polk County, Florida Sheriff&#8217;s Office arrested Jason Matthew DiPrima, 49, of Kingston, Georgia in a sting operation for soliciting a prostitute.
